Rajputs of UP (Uttar Pradesh & Uttaranchal): Rajputs of UP and Uttaranchal
Khamma Ghani Hukam, I have no knowledge of my family lineage and with the passing time elders of my family too forget the true identity. We are Dixit and we are Suryavanshi Rajput ,this much I know . But no one believes that am a Rajput they thought am a brahmin either (Marathi or Bengali ). My mother belongs to the Tomars ,she never faced such questions but I and my siblings always plus second thing I have many rajisthani friends and they told me that there is no Dixit Rajput in Rajisthan ,I replied our clan belongs to some part of Gujarat,Bihar ,UP and MP but still they said OK it may be possible . I want to ask why the Rajputs of Rajisthan have so much proud ,OK we have a glorified history ,I agree but its not the matter that they don't agree about the rajputs of different region and make them feel inferior by not making any kind of relationship .
Your note brings a smile to my face, as I know too well the inherent bias between the Rajasthani Rajput and the Gangetic Rajputs. Your gotra is the primary identifier, as will be your village roots. Your description aligns with a classic Kshatriya, however the Dixit surname can cause the confusion with the Marathi Brahmins (blame Madhuri Dixit)..The original name was Dikhit Rajput. Just stay proud, and believe in yourselve and background.
